I couldn't have said it better myself

I enjoy reading Perry Noble's blog. If you don't know who he is, he's the pastor of a fast-growing church in South Carolina. His blog is usually insightful and challenging. Today's was no different and I decided I couldn't help but add his words to my blog. See what you think:

"What is the one thing you know God wants you to do–but you constantly refuse because, in order to be obedient you would have to be willing to get uncomfortable?

Go back and read that question again…and again…and again.

There is a dangerous mindset among some Christians today, you know, the one that says that God just wants me to be happy and to live a very comfortable life (uh…how exactly does THE CROSS fit into that?) When, in reading Scripture, God is very clear that we exist for HIS glory–not vice versa. AND in trying to live a life that honors Him there will be times we are asked to get incredibly uncomfortable."

I think he's so right ... and too many times our judgement about life is clouded by our culture, our upbringing, our viewpoint, our family and more. At the end of the day, THE TRUTH is found in Scripture. That's it. Not in what we think, what we feel, what we hear. The Bible. Sometimes we learn things that make us uncomfortable. Things that challenge what we've always 'known.' Its good to be challenged - especially when it draws us closer to God's way of thinking. And there are immense blessings in being obedient ... even when it doesn't feel good!

Amen girlfriend! I have learned no matter how hard, uncomfortable or foolish it may seem, obeying the voice of God is necessary to remain peaceful in your heart. Love Perry Noble!

It's funny how God works. I have not put a post on my blog in over a month. Today we post a blog on similar subjects at almost the same time. I love you.

Thank you for this blog, Angela. Really, honest to goodness, could not have come at a better time for me right now.

Thanks Angela, after getting Joe to bed tonight, Bob and I spent time just talking about what this looks like to us in our everyday life. I love how God gives us reminders through others.

Praying you feel better soon.
