Back to Life...

I feel like I'm finally back to "normal" (whatever that is, right?). After feeling so lousy in my first trimester and then having the holidays, I felt like things were crazy. The house was in disarray and there was so much TO DO! But, I'm happy to say that our rhythm is back and the routine feels nice again. Plus, the house is clean and organized once again! Its amazing how much better that alone makes me feel!
We got a new NACD program for Jordan and Jake and I was a bit overwhelmed at first. Jordan's stuff alone was 6+ hours per DAY! Yikes. Fortunately, after working on it a couple weeks, we've got a great routine in place where she doubles up on some activities and we can accomplish it in 4 hours.
As part of our new program, we're working on unit studies - and have recently incorporated lapbooks as well - which is sort of like a mini-scrapbook of our unit! Oh my goodness, this has been so fun! All 3 kids can be involved in some way or another and Jake has a blast putting the lapbooks together. I'll have to take some pictures of what we're doing.
Jake started a homeschool PE class this past week. He was really excited about it and loved every minute. Its a great way for him to burn off some energy and learn some new skills. Its at Sports Plex West in Waukee, so he's anxiously waiting for the PE day that they get to climb the rock wall!
My diet is going well. Its been a little bit of a roller coaster ride. But, the good news is that I've only gained 3 pounds so far (and I'm 22 weeks!). Of course, the food-nazi thinks that's too much and would like to see me finish out this pregnancy without gaining any more. Crazypersonsayswhat? Ugh. We'll see. I've decided to give myself one day a week to "cheat" so I don't go completely insane and I'm working on not going overboard on those days. In the end, if I keep my weight gain down, I won't have to worry about losing it, so that's good motivation. Not to mention avoiding an 11-pounder, for sure!
We still haven't landed on a name for this little guy. Can't seem to agree on one we both really like. I've heard of people not naming their kids until they're several months old ... maybe we'll try that this time. LOL!
Well, that about covers what's been happening with us lately. At least the stuff I can write about. :-)
I'll try to keep up a little better!

It's so nice to get a little update. I'm still just amazed that you have only gained 3 lbs. Just when you get yourself into a routine, that little guy is going to be here and you won't be able to take your eyes off of him.

Take care,
Anne

I think you look awesome. But as for not gaining anymore than 3 pounds in a pregnancy, that is just CRAZZZZZY!
