Lead Like Jesus

Ed and I are leading/hosting a life group at church. We are going through the book, "Lead Like Jesus" by Ken Blanchard and Phil Hodges. While the topic & book are interesting as well as convicting, I'm also really enjoying the company of our life group friends more and more each week! Tonight, we had a new family, Curtis and Mandy Cecil. They have 3 kids - who fit in quite perfectly with the brood that runs around in our basement with a babysitter while we do our study upstairs. As I watched our group tonight, it occurred to me that we have connected in the last few weeks and developed and grown together. It takes time, of course, but I loved watching the laughing and silliness that goes on in our group. Each person brings their own form of 'comic relief' - and when you add it all up, it makes for a really fun group. It was nice to see Curtis and Mandy fit right in with the rest of us. Mandy's husband travels alot, she's a stay-at-home mom to her 3 cuties AND...bonus, she homeschools! So, needless to say, I'm looking forward to connecting with her and getting to know her better!

Thanks for sticking with it thru the 'slow start'. It is totally paying off in good learning, and GREAT new friendships! Mark and I really look forward to Thursday nights:)
