Happy Birthday, Babe!

How lame am I that I've had this mental block against blogging birthdays in a timely fashion? I'd be willing to bet I missed one or two along the way even. UGH!

Anyway, Sunday was my dear sweet hubby's big 3-3...he's just a baby! :-) There are SO many things I could say about him, but obviously a blog is not sufficient. My friend Sarah wrote a birthday blog for him as well (her's was actually on his birthday...go figure!) So, here's my nut-shell thoughts on my darlin...

*We met working at Subway in college. I was the manager and hired him...because my assistant manager thought he was cute (well, now THERE'S a reason to hire someone!) and because he was willing to work nights and we stayed open until 2 am!
*We dated for two years...but only because I insisted we both finish school before getting married. He's much more of a romantic and would have married me any day along the way!
*We've been married for nearly 11 years. We've been through ALOT together. So much laughing, many fun times, a few disagreements (ha!), and some seriously hard stuff, too. I wouldn't trade one minute of it.
*Eddie played soccer in high school and was coaching the girls soccer team at our college when we met. He had some seriously NICE legs! Mmmm.
*Anyone that knows Ed, knows he's a complete nut. He'll do darn near anything for a laugh. He has a bizarre sense of humor that he gets from his dad! This sense of humor was one of the first things that attracted me to him. (I know, some of you are wondering what I was smokin'!)

*He LOVES cars ... and I think that love is part of what makes him LOVE his job and the insurance industry.
*He also LOVES fishing...something he's missed since we moved here.

*He has a degree in Agriculture Education. He wanted to be an Ag teacher. Guess God had bigger and better plans!

*Eddie raised pigs in high school and was involved in FFA. He named one of his pigs Roxanne, which we later named a dog we had. He would have been thrilled if we used it again for one of the kids, but I just think its weird to name a kid after a pig and dog...no matter how much you loved them.
*Ed is an amazing person. He's incredibly hard-working. He has a strong sense of right and wrong. He's constantly learning and changing and trying to do better...at work, at home, as a father, a Christian, a husband...you name it. He puts his best into everything he does.
*God has really gifted him in the area of leadership. He's an amazingly successful leader at work AND at home. He makes it easy for me to submit to his leadership in our family.
*He's a downright awesome daddy. He loves our kids and is always looking for ways to express that. He's a great teacher. He loves to surprise the kids and do fun things with them. He's NOT a baby-person, but he's been a great sport through all the baby years!
*He's fiercely committed to our family. I'm always so honored when I hear his coworkers say how sweetly he speaks of me and the kids at work.
*I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, I've got a GREAT catch!
I love you more everyday, Ed! You are such an amazing husband and father! Thanks for giving me a fairytale life!
Happy Birthday (a little late)!
